ABOUT VELVET

Velvet Waite Hines known as Queen is the founder and president of Solo Nos. Her continued study of Business Management, Pan Africanism and her love of Philanthropy led to her non-profit organization from the United States since 2012 to her nonprofit in The Republic of Costa Rica since 2019.

Presently, her non-profit work is primarily in Costa Rica in the areas of Talamanca, however the association services the entire Province of Limón and is slowly being solicited in areas of San Jose. In doing so, she hopes to unite with other liked minded people and together leave a legacy of education, spiritual, unity, self-awareness, and entrepreneurship for generations to follow.

Velvet is a native of the Tribal Town of Old Harbour of Talamanca, Limon, Costa Rica. The reason for her work is deeply rooted in the legacy of her family’s roots and culture. Her strict upbringing influenced her social, economic, educational, and cultural background into a passion for philanthropy. All while earning her bachelor’s degree with a double major in Business Management and Configuration Management, as well as a Master Certification of Cosmetology and serving in the United States military during times of hostility and war.

It’s been 10 plus years since Velvet had the calling on her life to honor her spirituality and commit her life to community service and make a positive difference for future generations. As a 3rd generation descendant of one of the founding families of The Tribal Town of Old Harbour it is her duty and mission to help protect, preserve and teach the true history, roots and culture of her Tribal Founders by way of Pan-Africanism and the teachings of the Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey.

ABOUT CHRIS

Christopher Waite Sanders, known as Chris, is the co-founder of Solo Nos. He is the son of the Founder, a young man who was raised in a home where the life principles included are deeply rooted in maintaining a strong spiritual connection to his faith and demonstrating the love and blessings of your creator by actively doing good deeds, giving back to your community, and helping to make a positive difference in your Family and Tribe.

Chris completed his dual Associate’s degree in Arts & Science at 17, and went on to complete an Industrial Engineering Degree at 21. He continues to pursue his career in Data Analysis alongside being an entrepreneur. His education and experience as an Engineer and work as a successful Entrepreneur allow him to also be a core sponsor of Solo Nos. As the youngest member of the Board of Directors, he is a top consultant for annual events, technology management, social media strategy, and the development of all programs.

SOLO NOS COLLABORATORS

Solo Nos is a private organization created to serve the community and whose core membership is its Board of Directors and commissions. The organization operates based on the efforts, funding and collaboration it receives from its Board of Directors, from sponsorship and membership.

To date, the association membership includes people and organizations who have worked for the association, worked with the association, sponsors and volunteers. Membership is classified into 5 categories: Active Membership, Voluntary Membership, Helping Membership, Supporting Membership and Honorary Membership.
